Behind the scenes with Mister G. (Ben Gundersheimer) in Amherst, Ma.

My daughter and I went over to Amherst today to see local hero, Mister G, at the town’s annual block party. Due to technical reasons, however, the show was delayed and we had to leave before his set began. We did get to see Mister and Mrs. G (Katherine, a writer and former professor at Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University) ‘backstage, however, and I was able to fire off a few photos of M.G warming up with percussionist Marcos Carreras.

Ben Gundersheimer (known as MISTER G), is a Latin GRAMMY Award-winning musician, author, activist, and educator. Hailed as a "bilingual rock star" by the Washington Post, he has released ten award-winning albums of original music for children and families, including four bilingual (Spanish/English). His CDs have been selected as best children's albums of the year by People Magazine, Parents Magazine, and The Washington Post.

His impressive career includes performances at notable venues such as SummerStage at Central Park, Lollapalooza, Pilgrimage Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, The National Zoo, Wolf Trap Theater in the Woods, The National Theatre, Austin City Limits, and The Getty Museum (to name a few).
